How to register on FBR IRIS
Individuals can start online through IRIS. A company or association of persons needs its own registration through the authorised representative. Prepare the right details before you begin.
Choose the correct registration route
Use individual registration for your own taxpayer account. Do not create an individual account as a substitute for a company or AOP registration. FBR’s published registration guidance directs business representatives to its registration support at Tax Houses or Regional Tax Offices.
- Read FBR’s official registration requirements www.fbr.gov.pk
Have these ready for individual registration
- Your CNIC and its validity or expiry details.
- A mobile SIM registered in your own name and an email address you can access.
- Your address and the personal details that match your identity record.
- For business registration details, the bank-account and premises documents listed in FBR’s requirements, where applicable.
If your CNIC already has an FBR account, recover access to that account rather than starting another registration.
Complete the individual online form
Open official IRIS registration iris.fbr.gov.pk
- Basic information: enter your CNIC, validity details and personal information as requested. Match the name to your identity record.
- Address: complete the location and address fields. Check them before continuing.
- Contact information: enter the mobile and email details you control, then complete the verification steps sent to them.
- Password: create and confirm your password using the requirements shown on the form.
- Confirmation: review the information and finish the registration. Save the confirmation or registration record provided by FBR.
The form itself marks mandatory fields and shows validation errors. Correct the highlighted detail before moving to the next stage.
Register a company or AOP
A company’s principal officer or an authorised AOP member/partner should follow FBR’s business registration route. Contact the relevant FBR registration office before visiting and take the documents for the entity, not just the representative’s personal records.
- Company: incorporation certificate, directors’ CNICs and the authorisation of the principal officer.
- AOP: partnership deed and firm registration documents where applicable, partners’ CNICs and the signed authorisation.
- The entity’s email address and bank-account certificate.
- The representative’s identity and mobile details, plus business-premises evidence and the utility bill required by FBR.
- Full company and AOP document checklist from FBR www.fbr.gov.pk
If registration will not complete
- Already registered: use the password-reset or account-recovery route.
- Name or CNIC mismatch: compare your entries with the identity document and correct typing errors.
- Verification code missing: check the email spam folder and mobile reception, then use the official resend option.
- Form error: keep the error message and stage name for FBR support; do not send your password or codes.
After you register
Sign in and check the taxpayer name and registration details. Registration does not complete a tax return or automatically settle your business’s invoicing obligations.
