PRA eIMS invoice verification: the official invoice search

How the official PRA eIMS invoice search works, the number it needs, and when to use the legacy portal for older invoices.

What this guide covers

This guide covers Punjab sales tax on services e-invoices (eIMS). The public page at e.pra.punjab.gov.pk provides a single invoice-number search and shows invoice and line details when a record is found. PRA's user manual assigns the legacy portal to invoices before August 2024 and the PRA IRIS/eIMS route to later invoices.

The public search asks for an invoice number only. It does not ask for a cell number or CNIC. The check runs on PRA's own page.

Open the official eIMS search

Open PRA eIMS official search

Opens on e.pra.punjab.gov.pk in a new tab. Verification is completed on the official service, not here.

Single 'Enter Invoice No.' field (maxlength 40). Interactive search not exercised.

The official hostname is e.pra.punjab.gov.pk. Enter the invoice number and start the search. The result table on the page then shows the invoice and its line items.

Fields the official search expects

The official eIMS search asks for one field.
FieldRequiredNotes
Enter Invoice No.YesSingle text field, maxlength 40 (field id eimsForm:inputInvoiceNumber). A search icon triggers the result update.
Results table-Invoice No., Invoice ID and Dated at the top; line items with Description, Quantity, Sale Price, Tax Charge and Total; Gross Total, ST Charges and Net Total at the bottom.

The message 'No records found.' also appears on the first page load, before any search. A blank result after a search means the number was not matched, so check the digits and read the label beside the number on the receipt.

Invoices before August 2024 use the legacy portal

Open the legacy PRA invoice search

Opens on reg.pra.punjab.gov.pk in a new tab. Verification is completed on the official service, not here.

Per the PRA user manual, use this legacy portal for invoices before August 2024.

PRA's user manual distinguishes the legacy portal from PRA IRIS. If the receipt is older than the cutover described by PRA, try the legacy IMS Fiscal Report search. It also takes a single Invoice No (maxlength 40) and had no login wall when observed.

Where the invoice number is

Enter the invoice number printed on the eIMS/POS receipt in the 'Enter Invoice No.' field. Use the number that appears beside the invoice label on the receipt, not the terminal or order reference a shop may add for its own records.

If the search does not match

  • Check the invoice number and its label on the receipt; a single wrong digit returns no record.
  • If the invoice predates August 2024, try the legacy portal instead of eIMS.
  • The result rendering uses AJAX; a slow response is not a failed invoice. Wait for the table to update or retry.
  • Use the shared tool's local QR inspection if you only have a QR code, but remember it does not check a record.
  • A non-match is not proof of fraud, and a match is not proof that tax was remitted.

If the search still shows nothing

Ask the business for the invoice number printed on the eIMS or POS receipt and for their PRA registration. Keep the receipt until the question is answered. The PRA services that need a login are separate from this public search.
